A Thank You Message from Christina
I would like to thank the voters of Chelmsford for electing me as your next School Committee member. I am truly honored to have been given the opportunity to serve our community. Chelmsford can be very proud of its reputation for great schools. As your School Committee member, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work very hard to ensure that our schools maintain their excellent reputation.
I am very touched at the level of support I received from my family, friends and fellow community members. I appreciate the efforts of the many people who helped me over the last few months. From displaying lawn signs to baking cookies for the fundraiser, there were so many ways that people contributed to my campaign. I would especially like to thank Karen DeDonato, my campaign manager, for her tireless efforts throughout my campaign. Karen ran a first class campaign and her friendship and advice were invaluable to me during the last few months.
I would like to thank the "Chelmsford Independent" and the "Lowell Sun" for their endorsements of my candidacy. I appreciate their vote of confidence.
Finally and most important of all, I would like to thank my family for their love and support over these last few months. My husband John and my two children, Brendan and Madeline, are my most ardent supporters and I couldn't have done it without them! My children are the reason I became involved in the Chelmsford Public Schools and they serve as a constant reminder to me of how important our schools are to all children in Chelmsford. I greatly appreciate the support of my parents and my sister who cheered me on from California and the Walsh family who are my surrogate family in Massachusetts.
Over the next few years, the School Committee will be dealing with budget deficits that could erode the quality of our education in Chelmsford. I will make every effort to work with our town leaders to bring more education dollars to Chelmsford so that we have the resources to provide quality education. As a School Committee member, I will make sure that our next superintendent is the best candidate to lead our schools in the years to come. The School Committee will face many more issues over the next few years. I will approach each challenge with the ultimate goal of maintaining excellent education in Chelmsford. Our community and our children deserve no less.
I would like to hear your ideas and opinions on the issues facing our schools. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
